★1972年4月、中1になった時、私はミニカー集めの好きなクラスメイトに出会った。彼は故・中島 登氏のカラーブックス「世界のミニカー」を見せてくれて、ミニカーコレクションの奥深さを私に教えてくれたのだった。
その彼は当時、マッチボックスのファンクラブ(確か輸入元の朝日通商が組織したクラブ)に入会していて彼が出席したコレクター座談会特集の会報などを見せられて、私も俄かにマッチボックスのコレクションに目覚めてしまった。
その頃、トミカは発売後まだ1,2年と日が浅く車種も少なかったが、マッチボックスはシリーズ75車種も出ていたこと、また当時の定価がトミカが1台180円に対して英国製のマッチボックスは1台170円と少し安かったこともお小遣いの少ない中学生には魅力だった。
その頃のマッチボックスは既にホットウイールの影響でスピードホイール(スーパーファスト)となり、ケバケバしい色彩のモデルが増え始めていて、新車は中学生にも何だかヘンテコリンなミニカーに見えたことと「世界のミニカー」に古い絶版モデルには価値があると書かれていたことから少々古いマッチボックスを捜して集めたものだった。
当時のマッチボックスは玩具店や模型店だけでなく文具店や駄菓子屋でも売っていて、ちょっと古目のモデルを捜すのは自転車で近場をくまなく捜し回ればさほど大変なことではなかった。
★そんな訳でマッチボックスばかり集めていたために初期のトミカはほんの数台しか当時は買わなかったのだが、現在では、その頃の初期トミカにとんでもないプレミア価格が付いていることに戸惑ってしまう。何しろ180円で売っていたのを当時自分の目で見ているのだから。
今回は最近のオークションから高額となったトミカを記録として残しておきます。全て現在92歳の方が40年以上前の50歳当時に買ってそのまま開けずに保存されていたものだそうで、箱・ミニカー共にコンディションは抜群のようでした。コレクターはより新品に近いモノを望むため、このコンディションの良さが更に価格を押し上げたことは間違いなさそうです。しかし、この超プレミア価格は一説によると投機目的の中国人のトミカ・コレクターが増えて価格を押し上げているためとも聞きます。
●トミカ30-1番 三菱ギャランGTO ・・・・・36万1000円
1/60スケール・1971年10月発売・当時定価180円。泣く子も黙る？香港製トミカのGTO。これを持ってさえいれば一流のトミカコレクター？私はこの金額を出してまで欲しいミニカーとはとても思えません。30万台の1回生産などと言われますが、微妙なボディカラーやシャーシのバリエーションもあり、私は現存数がそんなに少ないという感じがしません。少なくとも数百台は箱付で現存しているのでは。

1/60スケール・1970年10月発売・当時定価180円。これは復刻品なら数百円で入手出来るので私は復刻品で充分な気がします。
●トミカ4-1番 1968年クラウン・パトロールカー・・・・・21万1001円
1/65スケール・1970年10月発売・当時定価180円。復刻品なら数百円で入手出来るので私はこれも復刻品で充分な気がします。シール未使用も価値を上げています。
●トミカ27-1番 1968年クラウン・ファイアーチーフカー(消防指令車)・・・・・12万1000円
1/65スケール・1971年5月発売・当時定価180円。初期の銀サイレンである上にこれもシール未使用が価値を上げたようです。
●トミカ21-1番 1970年スカイラインHT2000GT紫・・・・・13万3007円
1/62スケール・1971年6月発売・当時定価180円。これは復刻品では21-2番レーシングの金型になっていますが、オリジナルと似た雰囲気を数百円でも味わうことは出来ます。
●トミカ22-1番 1969年ニッサンR382メタブルー・・・・・11万円
1/59スケール・1971年8月発売・当時定価180円。これもシール未使用が価値を押し上げたようです。
●トミカ33-1番 1971年ニッサンセドリック230セダン・・・・・10万円
1/59スケール・1971年9月発売・当時定価180円。香港製トミカの1台。これだけは何故か私も当時買ったものが手許にありますが最近トミカリミテッドビンテージで出ているもので充分な気もします。
上記7台計 131万7008円 ・・・・・たかが小さなトミカたった7台でこの金額とは(＠_＠;)このような初期トミカをもし100台持っていたら2000万円前後にもなる計算です(＠_＠;)たかがトミカ、されどトミカ？？
どうもミニチュア本来の味を楽しむことよりも、もはや一種の利殖対象になってしまっているような気がするのは私だけでしょうか。
